I have recently submitted my DPhil thesis following research in the Department of Experimental Psychology at Oxford, and I am now awaiting my viva (oral exam).
My doctoral research focused on understanding the mechanisms of semantic organisation and the role of sleep in consolidation of newly acquired information.
During this time, I also had the opportunity to work as a Research Assistant in the Language & Brain Laboratory in the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology & Phonetics. This lab conducts experiments to help us understand how the brain processes language, using a combination of eye-tracking and EEG techniques.
My current research focuses on the interaction of language, attention, and sleep, using experimental methods and a computational modelling approach. In addition, I'm interested in bilingualism, and the characteristics of languages with pitch accents (such as the Serbian language).
