I am a Postdoctoral Researcher currently working on our new MORPHON project.
I originally joined the Language and Brain Laboratory in 2015 to work on the WORDS project to investigate the underlying phonological representation of words.
In particular, I was interested in the phonological alternations of Mandarin tones, how they are represented and processed during perception.
I am also interested in the interaction between language and cognition. For example, in my previous research, I compared monolingual and bilingual speakers in terms of their attentional control ability, inhibitory control ability and general executive functioning, in both verbal and non-verbal contexts. I used both behavioural and electrophysiological techniques to address this topic.
During the course of my research I have become fascinated by EEG and ERP techniques, and will continue to use these methods to tackle key research questions in the current project.
