I am now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chinese & Bilingual Studies at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Before this, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher on the project entitled "Enriching sentence meanings: Semantic and syntactic mechanisms", and applied neurolinguistic and psycholinguistic methods to the study of semantically and syntactically implicit aspects of meaning.

My previous research also focused on implicit aspects of language, including implicit pragmatic meaning (focusing on scalar implicatures) and implicit phonological structure (focusing on allomorphy and underspecification in Mandarin tone sandhi).

I am especially interested in taking neurolinguistic and psycholinguistic techniques that have been developed to study the processing of scalar implicatures and using them to examine other pragmatic phenomena, such as conventional implicatures and presuppositions, that have been less widely studied in this domain.
