After an unforgettable period of study and research in the UK, I have now returned to China to apply my research knowledge and skills as a data analysis specialist in industry.
Previously, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher contributing to the MORPHON project, although I had originally joined the Language and Brain Laboratory in 2015 to work on the WORDS project to investigate the underlying phonological representation of words.
In particular, I was interested in the phonological alternations of Mandarin tones, how they are represented and processed during perception.
I am also interested in the interaction between language and cognition. For example, in my previous research, I compared monolingual and bilingual speakers in terms of their attentional control ability, inhibitory control ability and general executive functioning, in both verbal and non-verbal contexts. I gained experience of using both behavioural and electrophysiological techniques (such as EEG and ERP) to address these topics.
