We have also conducted production studies in English (2012), German (2012), Bengali (2013 & 2015) and Norwegian (2014).
In English, German and Norwegian, we investigated gemination at the word boundary. To do this we record speakers’ pronunciation of geminate and non-geminate words in several conditions to examine whether geminates which arise through concatenation show the same acoustic characteristics as those in languages with underlying geminates.
The Bengali production study is examining both vowel and consonant duration.
