MMN study at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway

Thursday, August 21, 2014 - 18:30

We spent two snowy weeks (March 16-30, 2014) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway working in collaboration with Jacques Koreman.

We conducted an MMN study of the automatic processing of lexical tone in Norwegian. Dawn Behne generously let us work in her laboratory where we not only had an electrically shielded booth and room with lobby to ourselves, but also had a hairwashing room right next door. Luxury!

Our student assistant Malin Magersnes - who is studying phonetics - was an incredible help. She managed to schedule and screen 27 participants and made sure they all turned up as well as helping us prep and run the participants. Between Jacques, Dawn & Malin we really had everything we could ever want to run all those participants and we even got loads of snow!
